POSITIVES/NEGATIVES OF POSSIBLE LOCATIONS - CHARLIE

My Comments:
These are three other possible locations that we could use to film for the opening scene, each location does have positives and negatives to it as addressed in the table. I have researched into these locations by visiting them myself and looking on Google maps to find out information about them and if they are suitable for what I want the opening scene of the film to be like.

MARKET/GENRE RESEARCH/ANALYSIS OF PAST STUDENTS WORK - CHARLIE

This is a piece of work that was done by a previous AS level group and we want ours to be similar to this because it is an intense chase scene that engages the audience. It has been done in a realistic location similar to what we are able to film in, for example; there are no major health and safety risks. The filming is done well because it is clear what is going on during each shot and there are a variety of shots used, despite this there is still a sense of continuity. As our scene will be filmed at Crystal Palace train station and South Norwood Lakes it will be a bit different as this one is mainly filmed inside a shopping centre, our film will involve The Boss setting up Mason and Tom is following him.We are looking to conform to the stereotype of men being violent and dominant humans, we are doing this by having one man follow and begin to attack another another man in our scene, both of the actors are young and will be dressed in suited clothing so that the scene can feel serious. Mason will be followed out of the train station at a fast pace and this kind of behaviour in today’s society is considered suspicious. And this is the stereotype of what young people get up to when they are not in education, e.g. – the thought that they are always on the street causing trouble. We hope to include as many different camera shots as possible such as Low angle, High angle shots and close ups, we think that point of view shots will work really well especially when there are shots of Mason being followed.

PRODUCTION SCHEDULING - CHARLIE

Date
Filming
Time
03/12/13
Inside and around the ground of Crystal Palace Train Station
9:30am – 11:00am
12/12/13
At South Norwood Recreation Ground, filming of shots leading into the park and meeting up with the character ‘The Boss’
10:30am-12:00am
Comments:
This was the production schedule for carrying out the filming of our short opening scene.
We wanted and managed to complete the filming in as little time as possible, this is to help with continuity as the storyline of our short film required characters to be in the same clothing and the weather needed to be the same/similar. So for this to happen, we aimed to complete filming within two days and we managed to achieve this.

MARKET RESEARCH - ANALYSIS OF 3 EXISTING PRODUCTS - CHARLIE

My Comments:
In this presentation I have analysed three existing products, this is to show that I have the ability to analyse other products and compare how they are different to what I want to create. I have also included the opening scene of each film along with the analysis.

FILM PRODUCTION STORYBOARD - CHARLIE

Film Production storyboard - slideshows

My Comments:
This storyboard has been drawn out in order to show the sequence in which I plan the scene to happen in, it is a step by step breakdown of all the main parts of the film and a short description underneath. This can help the audience to understand the scene more and can also help me in creating the scene as it is something easy to refer back to.
